The Clyde Dam is New Zealand’s largest gravity-fed dam and you have the once in a lifetime opportunity to be toured right through it! 

In this tour, you’ll visit the key areas in and around the Clyde dam, hear about the history of it’s construction, how it works, and marvel at it’s immense size and scale. Guided by locals, each with their own area of expertise, this tour is suitable for families, and anyone that is able to walk for 1.5 hours.

It is unsuitable for anyone in wheelchairs, or anyone requiring walking aides, pushchairs not allowed.

There are no bathroom facilities available while on tour

Please allow 2.5 hours for the tour. This includes transport to the dam, a safety briefing and registration.

We must be informed if you have a pacemaker. It is safe to visit the dam, however some access will be restricted.

The tour starts and finishes at the Clyde Village Store, 18 Sunderland Street, Clyde.

There is a very strict NO ALCOHOL and NO DRUGS policy. You will not be permitted to take the tour if you are under the influence of either.
